10/11/2014 Oriental Brickworks in Malaysia becomes attached to UK solutions

B&B Attachments, located in Northumberland, is the leading independent supplier of forklift truck attachments in the UK. The company which has a growing export division, recently aided Oriental Brickworks in Malaysia by providing the company with a bespoke solution to improve performance and on-site productivity.

Founded in 1980, B&B Attachments has facilitated the sale and hire of forklift truck attachments produced by leading international manufacturers, including attachments from KAUP GmbH and, uniquely, offers the largest range of products from a single source. Alongside this, B&B’s in-house team design and manufacture bespoke attachments, creating products that meet their customers' specific material handling requirements.

Histar Industrial Development is an engineering company established in the mid 90’s, based in Malaysia, that specializes in equipment and machinery for the ceramic industry, B&B Attachments via Histar, has provided Oriental  Brickworks with 2 Brick Tine attachments.

The innovative Brick Tine attachment, clamps the bottom layer of bricks on a pack. This greatly reduces the likelihood that the bricks will be damaged when moved around site, thereby protecting Oriental Brickworks’ investment, and preventing the high cost of replacing any damaged goods. To protect the bricks further, the pressure of the Brick Tine's grip on the pack is controlled by mechanical springs on link rods, operated by a single, rear hydraulic cylinder; giving the safest grip at the lowest pressure to the product. The tines have both upper and lower replaceable strips, which hold the product without causing any damage. To allow for safe and precise loading, both onto other stacks and onto transport vehicles, the attachment is fitted with a side shift facility, so that the operator can perfectly align their loads, making these attachments a vital part of everyday operations, and ensuring faster and safer handling.
